Change your site and space logos

You can customize the look and feel of Confluence by changing the logo.

You can change:

  • the site logo

  • the favicon (the small logo that appears in your browser tab

  • the default space logo for all spaces

  • the space logo for individual spaces

The site logo appears on the left in the Confluence navigation bar. You must be a Confluence administrator to change it.

To change the site logo:

  1. Select the wheel icon () in the top-right corner to open Confluence administration.

  2. Find Settings, then Look and feel in the left-hand navigation.

  3. Select Upload custom logo.

  4. Select Select a file to upload to upload a new logo image.

  5. Select Save.

Confluence's auto Look and Feel will detect the colors in your new logo, and change your color scheme to match. 

To use the default color scheme with your custom logo:

  1. Select the wheel icon () in the top-right corner to open Confluence administration.

  2. Find Settings, then Look and feel in the left-hand navigation.

  3. Select Customize navigation.

  4. Use the Highlight color dropdown to open the color picker.

  5. Select Reset to default

  6. Select Save.

Change the site favicon

The site favicon is the icon that appears in your browser tab. You must be a Confluence administrator to change it.  

  1. Select the wheel icon () in the top-right corner to open Confluence administration.

  2. Find Settings then open the Configuration menu.

  3. Select General configuration.

  4. Under Favicon, select Select file to upload.

  5. Select Upload.

You can upload PNG, GIF, JPEG, or ICO files. For best results images should be square, and at least 48x48 pixels. Maximum file size is 2 MB.

The space logo appears at the top of the space overview and as an icon in the space directory. The default space logo applies to all spaces that don't have a custom space logo applied.

You must be a Confluence administrator to change the default space logo.

To change the default space logo:

  1. Select the wheel icon () in the top-right corner to open Confluence administration. 

  2. Find Settings > Look and feel in the left-hand navigation.

  3. Select Default space logo.

  4. Select Logo: ON 

  5. Select Choose File to upload a new logo

  6. Select Upload Logo 

  7. Select Save

Space admins can change the logo for their space, which overrides the default space logo. See Customize your space to find out how to change the logo in a specific space.
