Restore a sandbox

Who can do this?

Role: Organization admin

Plan: Premium or Enterprise plan based on sandbox feature availability

Atlassian Government Cloud: Not available

If a sandbox or a sandbox site is in the offline state, you can restore it before it gets permanently deleted. Learn more about the states of a sandbox.

When you restore a sandbox, we’ll automatically restore its data.

If any data is missing after your sandbox is restored, contact Atlassian Support for assistance with data recovery.

If you have multiple sandboxes in a site that’s offline:

  • restoring any of its sandboxes will restore the sandbox site

  • restoring the sandbox site will not restore all the offline sandboxes; each sandbox must be restored individually if needed.

To restore a sandbox:

  1. Go to Atlassian Administration. Select your organization if you have more than one.

  2. Select Apps > Sandboxes.

  3. In the table, find the sandbox you want to restore.

  4. In the Actions column, select more actions () > Restore.
