What cannot be blocked by the Marketplace and custom app access rule

System apps

System apps supplied by Atlassian can't be blocked by Marketplace and custom app access rules. System apps are bundled with Confluence and Jira and provide core functionality.

User-installed Marketplace apps

Certain user-installed Marketplace apps available from the Atlassian Marketplace can't be blocked by Marketplace and custom app access rules. These are detailed in the sections below.

Marketplace apps that use Atlassian API tokens or Atlassian credentials to access data

In accordance with our Security requirements for cloud apps, Marketplace apps must not collect or store credentials belonging to Atlassian user accounts such as user passwords or user API tokens. However, Marketplace app developers (partners) can notify Atlassian and receive a temporary waiver for this requirement. These Marketplace apps can’t be blocked by Marketplace and custom app access rules.

The following Marketplace apps for Confluence have received a waiver from Atlassian to use API tokens or Atlassian credentials to access data:

Marketplace apps in the Atlassian DevOps Ecosystem that integrate with Atlassian apps

Marketplace apps in the Atlassian DevOps Ecosystem are currently unsupported by the Marketplace and custom app access rule. We are considering adding support for some or all of these Marketplace apps in future iterations of this feature. If you have a need to be able to block access for any of these Marketplace apps, please get in touch with our team by submitting a support ticket.
