Optimize grants per permission
The Site optimizer helps Jira administrators identify permission schemes approaching or exceeding the grants-per-permission limit and remove redundant grants.
Each permission can have up to 50 grants across users, groups, and space roles. If a permission reaches the limit, admins can’t add new grants until its configuration is reduced. Existing grants and user access remain available.
This feature is available only on Jira Premium and Enterprise plans. Jira admin permissions are required.
To review permission grants:
Select Settings (), then select System.
Select Site optimizer.
In the Limits section, find Grants per permission, then select Review.
The Optimize permission scheme grants page shows each scheme’s name, associated spaces, limit status, maximum grant usage, and available action. You can also search for a scheme by name.
Select Optimize next to a scheme to review:
the number of grants in the scheme
the number of redundant grants
the potential reduction
To remove redundant grants:
Select Review actions.
Review the grants recommended for removal.
Select Remove grants.
A grant may be considered redundant when it’s assigned to an inactive user, an empty group, or a group whose members are all inactive.
If a permission scheme is shared, removing a grant affects every associated space.
